Aqua Tofana Apothecary Women-Owned And Operated Shirt, Respect Women

In Italy, around the 1600s. It was a time where a woman was doomed to her husband. For many of them, there was no escaping from an abusive husband or a life of oppression. Yet lurking in the shadows was a wily apothecary called by the name of Giulia Tofana who offered an elusive enticing, yet deadly: freedom. Her invention was Aqua Tofana, an undetectable poison disguised as perfume or cosmetic water transferred silently from hand to hand. This provided women, held hostage by their fears, an opportunity to reclaim the life they never chose. Aqua Tofana was a name remembered in whispers, and legend only spoken of behind closed doors by wives caught in suffocating marriages.

Today, this haunting yet beautiful history breathes life into the Aqua Tofana Apothecary Shirt. This Tofana’s Tofana-inspired design got modern people thinking and brought back vibes from the period with a non-historical but dark, vintage aesthetic.
